Efraim A. Castaño
was born in Colombia, South America and immigrated to U.S. with his parents
in 1962. Upon graduation from University of
Tampa in 1976 with a Bachelor of
Science Degree in accounting, he joined the United States Army. In 1987, he
accepted the position of assistant Director of Finance for the Tax
Collector. During the past 16 years, he has been involved in the creation
and maintenance of an accounting system responsible for the accounting of
receipts and disbursements for the Tax Collector's Office, maintaining
financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting
principles and providing the Tax Collector's Office with financial support.
With his staff, he has been able to achieve
the above goals and accounts for over 1.2 billion dollars annually in
collections and the disbursement of such funds to over 135 governmental
agencies / districts.
Mr. Castaño
is a Certified Public Finance Officer, Certified Government Finance Officer
and has a Master of Arts degree from Webster
College.
