Business Tax Requirements

This office collects a business tax from businesses operating in Hillsborough County. No formal application for a business tax receipt is required. If you are regulated by state or county agencies, we need to see a copy of the documents these agencies have provided.  The following information must be provided at the time of your tax payment:

• Name of business or your name

• Mailing address and a physical business address

• Type of business

• Social Security Number or Federal Tax Identification Number

• Fictitious name registration (if applicable)
